Noticed since 1:00am and still no sign of WTMJ-TV ch. 4-1, 4-2, and 4-3 as of 5:40am.

Hope its nothing too serious.

I recall WVTV-DT's antenna got damaged a couple years ago and they were off the air for a whole month.

It's not fun when stuff gets fried.

Now that you are no longer in analog, course I guess it could have happened there too.  Nowadays nobody can afford to loose their Digital transmission for even a second.  At least they can still broadcast over cable. Hope for their sake they will be back on by the time I get home from work tonight.

Still getting calls on how to rescan for 18-1. Now they get 18-1 but lose channel 4.
We normally tell people to rescan periodically.
Bad time for anyone to be off the air.

Sounds like your station's advertising on the radio about scanning, re-scan, etc...is paying off.

I would think you would have been getting calls ever since February.

Just noticed that channel 4 is now available on 49.2...

Sounds to me  that they may have a very serious problem at WTMJ-TV since they made arrangements with Weigel Broadcasting to rebroadcast ch. 4 over 49.2.

I heard on WTMJ radio that programming will only be in SD.

I wonder how long they will be off? Could be a month. I wouldn't be surprised their antenna took the bite!

Just curious - when something like this happens where an act of god takes out a transmitter, does the station have insurance to cover replacement, or are they on their own when it comes to replacement costs?

All channels of TMJ4 were back up when we got home at 6PM

I was listening to AM620 earlier and they said that TMJ4 is running at 50% power currently.

Frak. Was hoping it was really bad and they would have to drop the made up news  department to afford the repairs. Oh well. Better luck next time GOD.

I can't speak for everyone of course, but WTMJ-DT at half power is coming in much stronger than WBME-DT at their current power. At least that's how it is out here in Genoa City. That makes me wonder why it's still even necessary to have WTMJ programming on 49.2. When WTMJ was completely off the air though, that was very unselfish of WBME to carry a competitor's programming. I have a new respect for WBME, WDJT, and the entire Weigel company.

WTMJ might be worried that the transmitter could fail again or they might have to take it offline again soon for further repairs.

Just got the same word too. They think it's unstable. They are watching it like a hawk around the clock now.

WTMJ-TV is no longer on 49.2
