Did a re-scan tonight to pull in WITI's 6.2 weather radar channel, and was suprised to see I am now getting WGN-9 out of Chicago!

Is this a short-term weather/signal thing?  Or has WGN upped thier signal strength following the digital conversion?

I'm a little suprised to pick up WGN.  I have an attic mounted homebuilt DB-2 style antenna, pointed towards the antenna farm on Milwaukee's north side (approx. 100 degrees - I'm in Sussex).  Signal strength is low to moderate, but is coming in rock solid with no pixilation.

That's 35 scanned channels available to me OTA.  Not bad for free TV!

I'm in Sussex also... I have a DB-2 antenna in a bedroom pointing to the south-southeast.  About a month ago I tried a scan with my computer's tuner (hdhomerun) and was able to pick up most of the Chicago stations including WGN.  The majority of them came in without a problem.  It only worked at night for me though.  Could be better now that the DTV transition has passed.

Currently getting WBAY 2-1, 2-2, 2-3 (RF channel 23) from Green Bay. Last Friday I was also receiving WLUK 11-1 & WFRV 5-1

This explains what is happening.....

I wouldn't expect to see any more horizontal lines or an extra floating picture anymore.

I was watching WVCY-TV 30-1 signing off the air at 12Midnight Last Night-this morning actually.  I expected the DTV box come up with "No Signal". Nope, it was replaced by the CBS Late Show // to WDJT 58-1.  Doing a display from the remote PSIP data  22-1 WSBT!   Also 22-2 and 22-3 all from South Bend, Indiana. Apparently 22-1 is broadcasting on their old analog frequency of ch. 22, the same channel WVCY-TV transmits on.   I also notice now my DTV box cancelled or deleted 30-1. I hope it will re-add 30-1 when WVCY-TV gets back on.

Most likely, when you tune to channel 22, it will look for the signal on RF 22. This time, it will pick up WVCY 30 and remap that to 30-1.

Troposheric ducting is great. The only negative is that sometimes distant stations will cause interference on local stations. Last night, my signal was low on WMLW 58-2 while watching the Brewer game. I'm not sure where there is another station on channel 46 here in the upper midwest, but I'm guessing that was the cause of the decrease in signal strength.

WTPX in Wausau is ch46, but low power. I would think WDJT would be interfering with WTPX with all the skip/ducting in the atmosphere lately.

Yep.  It was too good to last.  WGN dropped off in signal strength this morning to the point where I can no longer get a usuable signal.

Oh well.

I believe WGN-DT is located on RF ch. 19.
