These channels uses to be at 548 and 549 but now it is MAVHD and NGCHD...

TWC  could not reach an agreement with HDnet/HDnet movies, so there has been some speculation what they were going to fill those spots with.  Now we know with MAVtv and Simthsonian HD.  Still hoping for Weather Channel HD, but I am expecting that anytime soon.

Yes, Weather Channel HD would be great, TWC's website keeps indicating that this channel is on unless you have a cable card issue, its not in negotiation stage from what I can read, so what's the problem, TWC Milwaukee?:huh?:

I find it hard to believe more people are not angry with TW over this decision.  HDnet Movies was about the only place I'd get to see true classics uninterrupted/unbutchered.  Oh, well, BluRays come close.

avsforums has a good amount of angry TWC subs mad at this, many decided to end their service for their so-called "HD Package" or their service with TWC altogether.;)

I wasn't thrilled, but not exactly angry, as it did give me an excuse to knock $7 a month off my bill.  I got my sister to cancel her HD package as well.  I'm sure they've seen a lot of cancellations of that package, but who knows if it's enough to make them change their mind.  TWC is not really known for listening to their customers.

TWC's HD Package, as it is, is not good enough to make a new HDTV owner want to add more HD channels to their billing, either. Their "Digital Standard" selection of HD channels included may be enough already, plus maybe a HDPPV or HD premium channel addition (though this TWC location only offers one HD channel, not many of them per the HBO, Sho, etc., subscription, unlike many other TWC locations do offer).

As far as "listening"to their customers, I have asked and asked for the Weather Channel HD for months (especially during "Tornado Week" on this channel), to no avail, even though their website seems to indicate it is there under the legal notices).:(

Yeah, I dropped the HD package as well.

How much are the premium packages at this point? Now that I'm saving that $7 or whatever a month, I might go and add HBO or Showtime.

I think it's around $12.95 for 1 premium.. $20 for 2, etc.  You can call and see if they have any deals.  Last summer I got HBO and Cinemax for $12.95/month... then later in the year I was offered Starz for $6.95 a month.  Those prices were good for a year.

Standard Premium Rates:

It's $12.95/mo. for the first premium and $7.00 for each additional premium.  On-Demand versions of the channels are automatically included.  Under this system, they have HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, and the Movie Channel.  I think Starz is $14.95/mo but not sure. (Also includes Starz on Demand.)

Starz is $11.00 monthly.
-This includes the newly-released On-Demand feature (that was missing so long) and a single HD channel (vs. the 5 HD channels many TWC locations offer for Starz).
-Encore is part of the Movie Lovers Package at $5.95 monthly.

Their timing is such that the complaints might be down anyway.  I don't watch much TV from June-August.  I did not even notice that they were gone.

I am going to have to check the HD package and what I am getting for money now.

I consider TWC's Digital Cable to the Minimum for our modern age.  But $60 per month?  They are going to have to adjust prices down to accept the new economic reality.  Many let questionable billing fees slide in the past but are now weighing benefit/cost ratio.
