DirecTV will have to negotiate carriage of WDJT-DT with Weigel. If they don't manage to get the negotiations done by June 13, WDJT will again no longer be available to DirecTV customers.

Thank you for the answer; I wonder what you get with Directv with channel 18 transmitting only digital for The CW during weeknights-is it HD on Directv?

I would imagine the answer is yes, but I'm not absolutely certain of that, since I don' t have D* or E*.

The channel 18  signal via D* is not HD.  I have to go OTA for that.

Then CBS58 will find another way to shaft the Directv/Dishnetwork HD subscriber (as does Sinclair, too, the way CW18 is non-HD during primetime, given your answer) coming that June date w/analogue signal shutoff.:bang:

CW & MyNetworkTV  are not provided to the Milwaukee market in HD via Dish/Direct because "they" (Dish/Direct) don't provide it.  Most Dish/Direct markets only carry ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX affiliates.

Thanks for the input, Jimboy, I just needed confirmation as to what Directv and Dishnetwork are doing (whose fault it is).:D

Bluto

To summarize:
18 & 24 (and 10) not in HD on D* - D*'s fault.
58 not in HD on D* - 58's fault.

Good summary, Bluto, it puts things into perspective.

To my immediate south, including those right on the state line, DirectvHD subs are getting local CBSHD, local CWHD and PBSHD along with FOX, ABC and NBC HD locals from their dish, a one-dish, no-antenna-required solution...from Chicago.

-Figures that even in mid-2009, Wisconsin's local HD channel offerings would be slimmer from Directv (and Dishnetwork), like we don't count enough to receive them all (yet).:(

AFAIK - Current satellite capacity doesn't allow them to carry every possible HD channel in every market so some just get the top 4.

That's nice, but in Milwaukee we don't even get the top 4 in HD (no CBS HD).

Somewhat true, but... there are smaller markets that get pbs and more of the local channels then we do.  There comes a time that people have to understand that our local tv stations just want a bigger piece of the pie then other markets.  That is why we still sit with 3 channels plain and simple!

It will be very interesting to see what happens to CBS58 delivery after the analogue shutdown with Directv and Dishnetwork.

After the switch you will still see 58 on the SD side.  As I understand it, it is provided by cable not over the air.  The is no law that states you have to stop the cable feed of "analog".

We will have that feed for a long time.  It will be there until the market demands it.

Jim-

Any progress on an agreement?
