SA8300HD Losing External eSATA Drive!

Suddenly my SA8300HD is losing connection to my external 750GB hard drive.  It was rock solid for over a year but is now disconnecting quite often and then a reboot is required to reconnect it.  Is this caused by a Navigator update?
