:confused:Just curious, as to what all of us are shelling out each month.

(Please don't include introductory offerings)

We need a realistic dollar amount. OK?

Anyway............

I pay $82.00, thru Dish network

Hd Gold, & Platinum, 2 VIP receivers DVR service,  $.1cent Cinemax & locals ( the HD locals come via OTA on the roof.) and they have included the sd feeds for the RSN's. + At&T DSL Pro $35.00

Total: $117.00

klwillis45

My bill approaches $170. I have the 200 channel pack, HD pack, HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, 2 HD-DVRs, & Roadrunner

duncantuna

I've downsized since, but here's the breakdown:

Digital + 3 premiums = $89
HD Package (totally stupid 2-3? channels, got it free 6 months now removed) $7
DVR Service $9
DVR box $7
Road Runner $33
Taxes $14
 Total $161

I removed the HD Package, and removed the 3 premiums channels when the rates went up ..  I was at $131, it went up to $161, so I acted.  I think it's at $123 right now.

By the way, my brother is an appraiser. He has massive downloads and had been using RR., as he thought he needed it just for that purpose.

He switched to DSL Pro, and sees no difference.

Okay, here is a breakdown of my most recent bill from AT&T U-verse...  I have had u-verse for almost 2 years now, so this is well after the introductory period..

U-verse TV 400: $99.00
This is the highest tier of TV service from U-verse (should have downgraded this a long time ago)..

Note: I have 3 STBs including the 1 DVR... I do not pay anything for the 2 extra STBs but I believe now they are charging an additional $5.00 to new subscribers per additional STB (the first DVR STB is included) and I appear to be grandfathered in where I do not have to pay those extra charges...

Broadband Max: $55.00
This is (now) the second highest tier of internet service fro U-verse.. Has a 10Mb down and 1.5 Mb up speed...  The highest tier has a 18Mb down and the same up speed for $10 more

Broadband Max Bundle Discount: $10.00 credit
Get a $10 discount for having both internet and TV

U-verse Voice Unlimited: $30.00
This is the unlimited voice version... I think they have a limited one that gives you 1500 minutes or so for $10 less..  This started out at $40 for me but they lowered it down to $30 after I called and complained..

"AT&T U-verse Monthly Charges":  $10.00
Hmm, on this bill it doesnt give details for this, but I believe this is that "HD Technology" fee.

Note: They recently added a new "Premium HD Servie" tier for another $5.00 month which contains those 3 NBC premium channels (Smithsonian, MGM, Universal) which I do not currently have...  I also got a notice that they will be "moving" the palladia (music) HD channel into this tier soon so I will be loosing that channel as well (this is quite irritating)...  I do not know if they intend to add even more channels to this tier in the future or not, but if they do I will most likely purchase this tier..  Meanwhile since I am at the breaking point for what I am willing to pay for TV I will then most certainly drop down to a lower main tier (like U-200) at the same time...

And then there is a whopping $18.27 in fees, which includes $7.63 for Surcharges and $10.64 for Government Fees and Taxes...  They used to break this down further and give more detail for these charges on prior bills, but on this most recent bill I do not see that for some reason...

Anyhow, adding up all the services, discounts, and fees, for what I currently subscribe to this bill comes to $202.27...  This comes to $2,400 a year which is just too much I think (I have no business spending this much), so I will probably drop to a lower TV tier and just get HBO added in (now included in the U-400 package) or something...  Also I may drop phone service alltogether and just use my cell phone...

.. I hope this helps

Going off memory, $44ish for RR business class.

Will

For those of you finding that you watch mostly network TV, here are my monthly costs:

OTA only:  $0
OTA dual tuner DVR: $275 one-time cost (including tax and shipping)

For internet, I pay $20 for AT&T DSL.

That's it.  I know I'd love to watch Discovery, History, TLC, ESPN etc. if I had cable / satellite, but I can't justify the expense.
