An xbox 360 (complete with a wireless controller and a 20GB hard drive) for $150 from geeks.com...

Its a refurb (most likely a repaired RROD unit) and is probably one of those older models that doesnt have an HDMI port.. However it does come with a component cable, so it should support 1080i and 720p via component...  And it does come with a 20GB hard drive and a wireless controller (the original "pro" package I guess)..

Still, for $150, its a good deal I think (assuming that M$ REALLY fixed the RROD)...

IF you are using Windows Media Center on your PC for your DVR (works great for over the air high definition), then you can use this as your media center extender to bring your shows to your TV across the network...

Even if you never play a game on it, for this purpose alone it is worth the price...

Sold at geeks.com, use this link:

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=XBOX360-PB-R&cm_mmc=geekmail-_-daily_html-_-22jan09_X360-_-X360main

Then use X360 for the savings code to bring the price down from $169 to $149...

Shipping to Milwaukee appears to be $15...

Just keep in mind that geeks.com is serving 10 years in the dog house and must submit to external security scanning for providing such poor security on their sites.

Hah, that Hacker Safe logo .. inside that story .. funny.

We display that logo on our websites.  It's entirely bogus and no consumer should ever think a site is safe just because that's on there.  Complete waste of money .. but some clients demand stuff like that, they just don't know how superficial the "security scans" really are.
