I was watching Scrubs and noticed that Channel 12 can now overlay the "Temperature/Wind Chill" Bug on the HD feed.

Hopefully they will get smart and create the full weather banners and alerts to overlay small, simple maps on top of the corners of the 4x3 safe area of the HD feed as well so that they don't have to drop down to the 4x3 SD setup that they do now.

They're occasionally running a crawl saying to tune to the SD feed for closings. I guess they can't run HD closings yet... :(

i want to watch the office in HD and tmj4 cant take there stupid weather banner down during primetime so it sucks what the heck

Yeah... I really love watching shows 1/3 of their intended size so I can see that Babes in Joyland daycare is closed tomorrow, again and again....   half these closings effect a few dozen people... and they know how to contact everyone who's effected!

Why do they need to use a TV station to tell those people they're going to be closed when the phone would work just fine?:bang:

CSI is Full screen.... Hooray 58!

The Office was great in HD. Oh, wait....:mad::mad:

WTMJ has the worst closings super in the entire television industry.

They need to take a hint from the other local stations and get a L-bar. Or something so the video doesn't get squeezed.

No other local station dropped HD during primetime.  Only WTMJ4.  And for what, for CLOSINGS?!?!  They were not warning of severe weather, there is no need to drop HD and have the scroll along the bottom.  I emailed WTMJ and vented my displeasure to them.  I suggest everyone else does the same.  I was sure to mention that NO OTHER local affiliate felt the need to run the crawls during primetime.  The email address that I used: tmj4feedback@todaystmj4.com

Grrrr   ... I just got home from work this morning and I see that my recordings of "The Office" and "30 Rock" are SD due to the Super Important News that it is cold out and some places will be closed.

I sent an email to the address that Murdoc listed, but I suspect they just don't care.

Well off to download some HD rips of those shows.  It's not quite as good, but better than the cr@ppy WTMJ feed, and I don't feel the slightest bit guilty about it.

I wonder if WTMJ would drop out of the super bowl HD coverage this year on sunday night if 4" of snow was expected the next day to give let us know snow is coming?

I know a packer game is considered untouchable for HD on fox and CBS.

All I can say is "Thank you, Chicago towers for being close enough for me to be able to pick you up in Kenosha!" I forget what I was watching on WISN the other day that got shrunk down to SD, but I flipped over to 7-1 and it was in HD. WLS wasn't even bothering to run closings at the time. I guess they figure that Chicagoans don't need 24-7 notices that the VFW Ladies Auxiliary bingo night is canceled.

Maybe we need to go after the local commercial sponsors instead!

No response to my email to WTMJ yet.  Anyone get anything?
