I am sitting here watching the Steelers game and wondering how much revenue 58 has lost during thier stand off with DirectTv.

Why do you think they've lost revenue? Not being argumentative, just interested in seeing your logic.

58 hasn't lost a dime because no other station shows the games.

Now that the NFL playoffs are here, I would think ratings on 58 would increase. With WITI having most Packer games during the season, their football ratings were much higher I'm sure. I really don't think DirecTV has anything to do with their ratings, or revenue. All people have to do to see 58 in HD is to simply hook up an antenna, or watch 58 in SD on DirecTV. WDJT is very easily available to DirecTV customers, even in HD.

The only primetime show I watch on 58 is The Amazing Race and that isn't in HD anyway.

For all big national games I get the HD feed through the Sports mix channel (205).

So screw 58. :p

cigarsmkrwi,

I feel your pain. As vegasvic said and we have noted here before, there are some tricks to getting to the HD CBS feed on D*.

Option one is to hit the active button on your remote, once that loads, look at the top rated shows, usually the big national sports events are top ranked. If you see the one on CBS, select it and you will be sent to the HD version of CBS 58.

Option two is to use the sports mix channel (205), find the game/channel and select it from there.

The bummer ofcourse is if you tune away you have to do it over again and while you can record the hd version while tuned, you cannot schedule it to record on the HD version. This only works on HR-21 and up boxes. H20s, non HD dvrs will tune the channel, then kick you back out.

I agree. The only thing other than football I watch on CBS is 2 and a half men.

If you have DirecTV just use an address that carries CBS in HD like Green Bay, Madison or Chicago as your service address and keep your current address as your billing address. WALA CBS in HD all the time.

How do you do this?  What if you need someone to come out and fix your equipment?

I do it to get CBS in HD. I cannot get it via OTA in Lake Geneva and Jim Hall does not believe so I am SOL on getting a waiver.

So I get it from Chicago instead....walla CBS in HD and WGN in HD aswell.

Tell them to come to the billing address not the shipping.
