Wow and they aren't talking just a dollar or two either. Wow, I guess there goes the best deal around.  They are getting just like everyone else I guess. Squeeze the consumer til we pop. Bad time to raise prices with everyone cutting back.

The raised their rates for non-STB boxes from $5/mo to $7/mo, as well as raising the rates for the content...

Fortunately, for me, I get 2 extra STBs (additional to the DVR STB) for free (included) in the U-verse package, because I guess I am "grandfathered" in since I ordered U-verse while they had 3 STBs included (no additional cost) in the package...

If I were actually paying for those extra boxes, I would be really ticked off, espeically since you cannot view u-verse without a box, unlike cable where you can plug it into any TV and at least get the analog stations without any additional equipment...

I have 2 extra STBs, which would cost me $14/mo (or $168/yr).. Fortunately for me, I don't have to pay that...

... If I ever do switch from u-verse (Im not saying that I will), I will probably not ever go back because then I would probably have to pay that extra $168 a year...

Yet it amazes me that so many people bash cable.  I'm not saying that bashing isn't justified because we all know the horror stories of all cable companies. However, the point is that the competition can be just as bad.  There is b.s built into every system.  It's just a little harder to see on some providers compared to others.

A friend of mine who worked in both the cable/dish industry told me he can tell people just as many stories involving Dish b.s as Cable b.s.

Wait a few years, AT&T/U-Verse will be just like the rest of the competition.
