WITI Showing Syndicated HD?

Currently, Channel 6 is showing the Rose Bowl Parade in HD, which seems to be the feed from KTLA.

Is this a sign of things to come?

Also, there don't appear to be any commercials or any bugs at the bottom of the screen!  Very nice!

I take back the bug thing.  There was a WITI bug centered at the bottom of the screen near the end of the parade, but it wasn't on for very long.

I think with live things they are ok, because they can just grab the feed off the satellite and then pass it thru in HD.  I would guess that for something like "Wheel of fortune" in syndication they local station doesn't pass it through live but records it and the plays it at their desired time.
