Re-downloading firmware

Is there a way to make the box re-download it's firmware from TWC?  On one of our DVR boxes we are getting color flashes (usually on the HD channels) which as you can imagine is quite annoying.  Rebooting it seems to remedy it for just a short time but would like a more durable fix.
