Quote from: Jack 1000;49524The graphics for On Demand Channels have also been updated.  They look really nice now!

Jack

I noticed new graphics on the save/delete screen when you stop watching a recording too.

I've also noticed the info banner on the bottom is like maybe 10% translucent.  Its not very noticeable, but if you have a contrasting image behind it, you can see it.  I seem to recall it being solid before.

Someone want to post screenshots?

UPDATE:

A Summation of The Better IPG Graphics and Features Still Needed.

The latest version of Navigator now has a much improved graphical IPG! Thank you. In addition, letter wrapping is now available for all directions on the keyboard. However, the following features are still needed:

If we had the following additions or get them in the next update, I will say that Navigator will be very close to Passport's standards, they include:

1.) Keyword Search

2.) Manual Recording Time Slots. (Where you could program the box to Start and End at program times that were not related to the IPG's schedule.) In theory, you can sort of create a Manual recording, by pressing the REC button on Navigator now, and the show will record from the point of Start Time to the end time in the IPG. But the thing is, you have to be there to create a manual start time. I want the ability to be able to program the EXACT start and end times for those programs:

1.) Where I only need to see part of a show.

2.) Coinciding with that is having the ability through Manual Recording to selectively record what I want to see, and not record what I don't want to see.

I turned to channel 542 and got a message flash on my TV that said press Select for Enhanced TV.  I pressed Select and a box came up with choice for the Guide or for the DVR list, but the box looked very similar to the one for the Start Over service.

Start Over is coming to SELECTED CHANNELS soon.  The reason for selected channels is that TWC needs copyright permission from the host channel to use the Start Over service on it.  There are about 35-60 (depending on division) channels that have Start Over.

When you tune to a channel and see the Enhanced TV Menu, Start Over should be listed in that box once it is activated.  In addition, you may also see a message that says, To Start Over press SEL (Select)  You can wait for the screen to clear in a few seconds, press Exit to take the notification off, or press Select to Start Over.

You might than get a Confirmation Message, (Do you want to start over?)  Options will most likely be (A) to Accept and (C) to Cancel  Pressing (A) restarts the show from the beginning no matter where you are in the live show.

Limitations of Start Over:

1.) You can not FF on commercials.  In order to do this, you must have a DVR box and have fully recorded a show for playback.

2.) You can not save a show.  DVR's must be used for that.

3.) Once a show has ended on a  Start Over enabled channel, you can not resurrect it for later viewing .

(Unconfirmed)  I don't know this for sure.  But it is my understanding that Start Over can not be used when the DVR is recording the same show

It's a nice feature.  But it in no way is designed to take the place of a DVR.  It's sort of a version of Video On Demand for channels that have it.  "I come home from school or work and want to see the beginning of a show after it's already a half hour into the program."

More on this after TWC adds this feature.  I am thinking in or before January.

I just find it funny that it's something that you just can stumble upon.

How difficult would it be for TWC locally to do a E-mail newsletter that has channel updates, feature updates, etc.??

Seems too simple to me.

Can anyone tell me with the newest Navigator / Mystro software whether the eSATA port is still active? The diagnostic pages don't seem to mention SATA at all anymore. I finally got around to order a drive from Seagate.

Also it seems that I cannot always pull up the diagnostic pages by holding down the SELECT button and waiting until the message icon appears. Sometimes the icon only flashes and I cannot use the Channel Down button to pull up the diagnostic screens. It seems that the message icon needs to remain on steadily for this process to work.

I picked up a drive yesterday (WD DVR Expander) and could not get it to work.  I got it to work on my 8300HDC, but that still is running the older software.

Oh my - perhaps I should cancel my Seagate order. Anyone else try the eSATA port with the new update?

I don't/won't have a TWC box, so I guess this is kind of moot for me, but I'm still curious about the Start Over service.

If you have a DVR and happen to use Start Over, could you still record the show?  IE - say I stumbled on a show in progress, used Start Over, could I hit "record" at that point, come back later, and still be able to fast forward, etc?

Not sure on this one.  I guess we will have to wait till it comes out.  My guess would be that Start Over uses the DVR tuner and a restart would create a conflict not knowing how to handle the recording at that point.  If you can't do it using the command above, I am sure you get a prompt.  This however is NOT a bug.  It has to do with how the Tuners process the information.  It still sounds like a nice feature.  But I heard on this one site for people that have TWC Start Over, that if it's a show you really like and you have a DVR, it's better to record it to your DVR.

Start Over is a nice feature, but it is still limited in that it ONLY starts the beginning of a show on selected channels that display the SEL or Start Over Prompt.  I do know that Dish does not have this.

My Rosewill eSATA enclosure (with 750GB Seagate drive) is working fine on a SA8300HD with the new Mystro.

Jack 1000

I have been getting more frequent reboots with this update, about every other day.  This happens when I go into the DVR Show List.  On my MDN box, the reboots are fast.  But I hope TWC did not create more new problems in the process of fixing "other" things.

I would presume the C-boxes are due for the upgrade before the end of the year.

So when does ODN get the update?  I'm still on 2.4.x from June.  Reading the AVS forums, it seems others around the country have it.
