i was on time warner's website and was under southeastern WI programing notifications "The new services listed below cannot be accessed on CableCARD-equipped Unidirectional Digital Cable Products purchased at retail without additional, two-way capable equipment:
MGM HD, FX HD, LMN HD, Weather HD, Cinemax HD, Starz HD, Versus HD, Golf HD, USA HD, Sci-Fi HD, Bravo HD, CNBC HD, Travel HD, Speed HD, Planet Green HD. Sprout, Familia, Inspiration Life, Gospel Music, Nick Too, Ovation."

it said this and made me wonder will we be getting these HD channels soon and has anyone heard anything the link is

Well that would be great.  Unless it's a mistake, I take that as confirmation of Sci FI HD!

My guess would be they will be added by Jan 1st.

i saw on my dvr that in the test channel phase there are these channels
1830 scifi HD
1833 travel channel HD
1834 USA HD
now there is no picture but this proves that my previous post is in fact true

EmuZombie

wahoo!  They appear for me in the 1800 range as well.

This means we are a mere days away from them going live

Huh. While it is easy enough to hate SDV at times, you gotta admit that without it, we wouldn't have half the HD channels we have now, let alone any of these that may be coming.

I wonder if, as we get more and more HD channels, if TWC is going to try and add additional tiers of HD channels that they bill additional for.

The thing is,

With regard to these channels below:

QuoteSprout, Familia, Inspiration Life, Gospel Music, Nick Too, Ovation."

None of them hold interest to me:

Sprout: A PBS Kid's channel that is already on Kids On Demand.

Famlia: Isn't that already a part of the optional Latino Package, which is something like an added $14.95-$17.95/mo?

Inspiration Life:  Sounds like another religious channel, as if the addition of Daystar TV wasn't enough.

Gospel Music: Can be heard on Music Choice, why do we need a video channel for that?

Ovation: Was dropped years ago because of a lack of customer interest, why are they pursuing this channel again?

Nick Too: Just repeats of what's on Nick at a later time period.  They dropped this channel a few years ago, no reason to get it back for duplicate programing.

Where are some good channels like Chiller TV?  Or even though I am not a football fan, working on getting NFL Network would also make more sense than adding some of these pointless channels, because channels like Chiller and NFL Network are what customers want.  This, along with more HD channels, which seems to finally be happening with the SDV roll-out.

But TWC still has SOOOO much wasted bandwidth!  They have two Educational Access Channels that show the same content over and over again.  There are about 17 Spanish stations just eating away bandwidth that could be used for better quality channels.  I wonder how many people get that optional Latino Package.  Azteca still repeats on a 500 channel and an 800 channel where I live.

It is good to see that Weather Plus is finally leaving, which will open up more bandwidth.  There is some progress being made, but TWC still has a ways to go.

The only thing I'd be interested in is a HD only selection, like DISH has.

Music Choice's selection on the CCM station leaves much to be desired. It often skews much too old and much too light.

Besides - there are several music video channels for "mainstream" music, but none for Christian music. I think the addition of Gospel Music Channel is actually a good thing.

Just received my December due TWC bill and it went up like $7 a month, so I hope we get these newest 3 HD channels mentioned added to the lineup soon:
I think we pay way enough without any more increases or tier adders (I pay for the HD package as it is).

While we are on the subject:
I subscribe to Starz and after many years of service (and increases in price), despite the fact that many TWC locations have it available in HD, we still don't in Wisconsin, why not?

I read or heard this a few years ago that there is some dispute between Starz and TWC regarding its HD channel service.  Maybe Starz wants to charge more and TWC keeps saying no.  I am pretty sure this is an issue at the corporate level, and would therefore be out of any local division's hands.  It would be interesting to hear updates on this.

The notice in the TWC website seems to indicate StarzHD coming soon along with those other HD channels, but requiring a tuning adapter to access the SDV channels these will become for cablecard customers.
Odd, that many other TWC locations have offered StarzHD for the same price point as TWC Milwaukee has and yet, Milwaukee TWC did not care.
Honestly, does TWC think Milwaukeeans don't subscribe to any premium channels?

I think not.

Often, I will wait for something to come on Starz (or even HBOHD and ShowtimeHD) instead of renting/buying the disc, it just seems bad on TWC locally, not to offer these premium channels in HD that are available, when you the customer are paying extra for it already.

SciFi (1830) and Travel Channel (1833) are showing a picture now, USA (1834) is not.

Interesting...

Last night those three new channels showed up in my SageTV channel lineup, as well as CinemaxHD (513), StarzHD (514), GRNHD (521, not sure what that channel is though), FXHD (535), and Lifetime Movie Network HD (565). I don't know if it's a mistake or if those are coming soon, I haven't had a chance to check on my main STB yet. Anyone else seeing those?

GRNHD is likely Planet Green HD.
