Just checking in on status.  I started watching Durham County this week - not bad.  But it would be better in HD. :D

WPXE ION

Still no word from my end yet on the HD.

I watched Durham County also. It seemed to skip around a bit, but I later found out is was originally on a pay channel in Canada so Ion had to edit out some content and language for broadcast. Next week it will only be shown on Monday, not every day like this week.

Correct me if I am wrong,

But I believe that TWC did reserve space for ION TV on Digital Standard channel 507, but all plans on ION going to HD were put on hold because of the economy.  In October, when TWC's line-up changes, we will see if and when ION TV in HD may be closer to reality for TWC systems.

HD real soon.

As long as all the equipment works out. Sometimes I dont like being the guinea pig to test things. :)

TWC's website says:  WPXE HD, HBO Signature HD, and HBO Comedy HD will join the digital lineup, so ION HD must be coming soon, right?

Yes. Next Tuesday.

I could not find the HD channel listed for TWC, most likely 1015 to follow suit with the analog channels.

Very nice. Will Ion HD be available OTA?

Yes. Now we can see the Slap Chop and Steam Shark in HD! :OnAir:

If I'm reading this right, that means you should be HD today. :)

As of 2 PM we are HD.

What ever is not in 16:9 will be up-converted. We are 720P. No 5.1 yet. :(

TWC will carry us on 1015, they said end of May, and Charter will have us on 615(tomorrow).

Did Time Warner indicate if they will also add ION HD on clear QAM ... and if so will subchannels (specifically 55-2, qubo) be on clear QAM?

Charter just added it to 615 today...looks wonderful so far :)!

Do you see Ion on clear QAM yet? I thought I read on their web site it would be available "un-encrypted." It may not show up until they put Ion up on the HD Tier at the end of May, which will be 1015. I do not know if they will put Life and Qubo on QAM that would be a question for Time Warner.

Channel 15 at my house in Milwaukee has macro blocking. Anyone else see this? Its only on Ion and only since we went HD. OTA looks great.

I wonder why so long for TWC to do the add when Charter announced it a day later?  TWC probably wants to make sure that everything is OK with the transmission first.  They acquired broadcast rights for ION-HD a while back.

This may not answer the question at all for TWC viewers, but Charter viewers should look to add QAM channel 116-1 to get it in the clear.
