Best way to upgrade SD directv receiver to HD

I have a new Pioneer PDP-5020HD for the family room thus the old sony LCD is headed upstairs to the bedroom to replace a 27" CRT.  I currently have a SD box upstairs, but will want to go to a HD box.

On directv.com I can order a new HD box, but I don't see a way to drop one of the existing receivers.  The website also claims I will be adding HD service at an additional cost but I assume that is in error since I already have HD service.  Is my best bet to call and talk to a CSR, so I can swap one of my SD receivers for an HD one?  Is there any chance I can get one for free if I sweet talk 'em?

Also, will they want to "reset" my 2-year agreement?  If so, does it only reset for this one new box, so if I were to leave directv, I would only pay the penalty on this one new box?

You should call them and see what they will do for you. If you have been an existing customer for some time and pay on time they will usually give you a decent deal. If you are just getting an HD box, not an HD DVR you should be able to get it free no problem.

The 2 year agreement will be reset, and it applies to your account, not the box I believe.
