Quote from: mhz40;48422In general, the DOCSIS technology is not symmetrical.  UL & DL circuit paths are not shared, therefore you can't supplement UL speed by reallocating DL capacity.  The theoretical upload limit of the current deployment of DOCSIS is around 9 mb/s, according to published Cisco documentation.  DOCSIS 3.0 when/if deployed could increase speeds, depending on what new features are deployed at the time.
That ~9 mb/s capacity is shared among all users in a geographic area, as is the download capacity, which is much higher.
The 20000+ kb/s download speeds are very impressive!!

I'm not sharing any secrest here... its all on the Cisco site if anyone wants to learn more...

Wow, so TWC can't really manage bandwidth most efficiently.  They need to correct this to keep up with the HD streaming etc.  BTW I am seeing much more pixelation on my TWC HDTV service recently (and I have checked all physical connections).
