According to Tim C from JSOnline

Time Warner Cable's been upgrading its capacity and is launching a slew of new high-definition channels by the end of next month:

Here's the list:

1. Food Network HD on Channel 515,

2. Palladia (MTV) on Channel 523,

3. Discovery HD on Channel 538,

4. TLC HD on Channel 540,

5. Animal Planet HD on Channel 543.

6. ABC Family HD will be located on Channel 517,

7. Disney HD on Channel 519,

8. Golf/Versus HD on Channel 526,

9. ESPN News  HD on Channel 529,

10. Science HD on Channel 520,

11. Fox News HD on Channel 522,

12. CNN HD on Channel 544,

13. Hallmark Movie Channel on Channel 546.

Is my calendar not working?  Is today actually April 1st?

While this is certainly good news, it's long overdue.  I just hope I can hold on for another month or two.  When I lost a couple channels last week and was told I needed a new box, I started to seriously contemplate Uverse for my TV.  More HD for the same price.  I just wish Sci-Fi would have been on Timmy C's list :(

Funny, you would have thought that USA HD would have been on the list.

Because I am a respiratory therapist and know that holding your breath is bad for you, I will not hold my breath.

But seriously, I sure do hope this is not another wait and see game. Those are some good channels to add. Of course that will make the total ESPN channels go up to what, 18?

Color me shocked, and pleasantly surprised if this happens on time and as described. I would assume that if it's to the point that they're informing Tim Cuprisin, they must be fairly confident they can get it done in that timeframe. Pretty good selection of channels as well, many of which contain a high percentage of genuine HD shows, instead of crappy upconvert-and-stretch shows.

I like seeing the Discovery channels, and Palladia could be interesting. Not sure how much Food Network benefits from seeing it in HD, other than that anything is better in HD. :) I don't really watch much of the rest of the list myself, but probably will on occasion now that it's in HD.

The reason that SciFi isn't on the list is the same reason USA isn't on the list - Time Warner is probably still negotiating the renewal of the carriage agreement for NBC Universal cable properties (USA, Bravo, Sci-Fi, Oxygen, MSNBC, etc.) That probably wouldn't be ironed out in time to launch the channels with this batch.

Some have already showed up for us in Racine.  Looks like this is for real

Great news here in Ozaukee County, as of 10pm tonight, I get 515 Food, 523 Palladia, 540 TLC, and 543 Animal Planet.  538 Discovery Channel shows up in the guide, but when tuning it, I get the "Discovery HD is currently unavailable. Please try again later" screen.

The complete list soon to be added is a good start, but the channel I would really like is USAHD.

So if this hold ups, it looks like TWC is at least starting to compete with u-verse for the HD channel offerings...

Some of these channels (ABC Family, Disney) are not even avialble on U-verse as of yet...

As a U-Verse sub, I see these TWC additions as a good thing...  It will force AT&T to not be complacent about adding HD channels...

gparris

Well, unless I am dreaming, the first five in the list are on right now...honestly.:D
Unless this is just test, I am removing five of them from my missing from TWC Milwaukee signature tomorrow.

kevbeck122

No additions for me yet, and according to my diagnostics no SDV yet here either.  Maybe they forgot about me... or the HDC boxes are having problems like always.

wireblsam

In Waukesha county I have them on the test channels in the 18XX range, but not in the 5XX range yet.

gparris

I have PalladiaHD, TLCHD, FOODHD, AnimalPlanetHD, but DiscoveryHD (not to be confused with HD Theatre) is there, but not switched on yet in where I live.;)
-Keep it coming TWC Milwaukee, I took these off the "TWC missing" on my signature list this morning, but added ESPNUHD, not because I care, but to keep some accuracy.
What I don't understand is why TWC hasn't added CinemaxHD, StarzHD or TheMovieChannelHD channels yet.:huh?:

Andrew

I had a box reset, rare for my 3250, last night at 9pm for no reason.  I checked, but didn't see any new channels.  This is good news, at least a few channels of interest.  I'd like ESPN-U in HD :)
