I'm a current Dish customer.  Thinking about upgrading to the HD box. I own a HD set with a built in digital and analog tuner, so local service isn't an issue.  Which system is likely to give me more HD channels over the next 12 months? Any clear advantages?

Currently Direct has HBO-HD, Showtime-HD and HD-NET.  HD-NET comes with any package, the HD show and HBO are free if you get the standard HBO or Show channels.
Dish has both HBO and SHOW HD's but I don't think they have HDNET, they do have Discovery HD for an extra $10.00.  It's all up in the air now that the sale of Directv to Dish is off.....who knows what's going to happen.

All in all, I'm am extremely happy with Directv.

HD Net is worth the price of admission. (Direct TV)

Discovery HD is $7 extra on Dish.
I think that it is a difficult decision.
I selected Dish one year ago because of a big price break in service :$9/month for their 100 package. I am happy with them.
Wait who will offer ESPN HD and select that one.
