Could Journal Broadcast Group look into moving to West Milwaukee?

This might be something that Journal Broadcast Group and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel might want to consider doing in order to become a strong company again.  Back in 2003 the newspaper moved their print facility out of downtown to West Milwaukee on Burnham east of Miller Park Way.  Now nearly 9.5 acres of vacant land are for sale next to and northwest of the printing press facility on the east side of Miller Park Way between Burnham and Mitchell Streets.  This property would move the offices out of downtown at 4th and State and the broadcast facilities on Capitol Drive to one centralized location.  The Village of West Milwaukee would benefit from this a lot and it would be a huge economic boost for the area if they ever decide on doing this in the future.

I cannot see the broadcast facilities to move at all, especially if the transmitters must continue to be at the current location.  If they move the studios, they will still keep the current building and use it as a transmitter facility. But I don't see that happening as it would cost extra for them to do that. They be better off keeping the broadcast facility as it is now.

Not sure what the relative property tax rate is in West Milwaukee compared to where they are now... but Unless they could get enough cash from a sale of the current properties to make the move pay for itself and more, there's no reason for them to do it. The Journal Compnay is in revenue freefall.. just announced today that they're laying off 10% of their workforce.

Only economic boost they're looking for right now is one to their own bottom line.

It's my understanding that West Milwaukee has a higher property tax rate than the city of Milwaukee.
