SDV Enabled Now - More HD Soon?

I was poking around in my 8300HD's diagnostic screens out of boredom today, and noticed that TW has now turned on SDV.  Screens 20 and 21 (I don't know what the corresponding screens are on ODN) now show that SDV is enabled.  I don't recall the date, but last time I was in there it was still disabled.  There is a registration date and time on page 21.  Looks like possibly they just turned it on 6/10.

I would like to tell myself that this means we'll be getting more HD soon.  But knowing TW, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Confirmed, seeing the same sort of thing on my 8300HD as well.

Any other cable box users seeing the same thing in the diags?

I was just over at my parents house (same neighborhood as mine) and their 8300HDC did not have SDV enabled (I believe it was screen 7 on the ODN diag screens).  So I did a cold reboot by pulling the power cord, and 3 minutes later after the box rebooted, SDV was enabled.

Now unless TW rebooted my box while I was sleeping, and I never noticed, I didn't have to reboot to get SDV.  But I had to reboot my parents HDC.  Odd.  Curious about any other HDC user's experience.

How do you get into the diagnostic screens with the TWC HD-DVR??

I'd like to see if SDV is enabled in my area yet.

On the remote, hold Select until the mail icon lights up and then press the down arrow right below it.

On the HD (MDN), that will give you like 29 pages of software and hardware diagnostics.

On an HDC (ODN), it will only give you like 9 pages software diagnostics (which is where you'll see the SDV status).  To get into the ODN hardware diag (16 pages), on the STB, hold both the Vol+ and Vol- buttons until the mail icon flashes, then press Ch+.

My 8300HD is now enabled.

Green Bay has 6 more HD channels than we do here in Milwaukeeland.
Now this week, 3 more, for a total of NINE more HD channels more than we here have!

All because, of course, they have their SDV actually up and running.

Enabled is fine, but working, up and running with HD channel addtions is something quite different and the Green Bay TWC service area is an example of this.;)
Maybe Milwaukee is just too large an area to be that "enabled" with SDV to have it happen yet, as for more HD channel additions.

Afterall, the only 2 HD channels we actually DID get were due to the fact a dozen or so (give or take) SD digital channels got lopped off, to make room, not for the reason the SDV here was actually working.

One more thing:
SDV implementation should be great if TWC Milwaukeeland can implement it right, but reading the TWC HD threads in avsforums, I begin to wonder about it.

Some subs have mentioned about the possiblity of channel "surfers" using up available space, not enough QAMs used for SDV and so on.

-The result was almost worse than having Navigator on an 8300HDC box:
No recordings were reported or those that were in-process were cutoff as the channel became unavailable as the SDV space was cut off due to heavy use.

How true is this and will this become more of problem as TWC Milwaukee brings in SDV?
While other TWC areas must have SDV implemented (like TWC Texas with its 50+ HD channels) and nothing gets reported from what I can read, at least.
Maybe there is a "learning curve" with the local TWC's as they add SDV, too.

-So this is just something to think about as Milwaukee has many more subscribers than Green Bay's area and more to go wrong.
