Fox 6 newscasts first going to HD with new sets?

I was wondering if anyone knows if FOX 6 is going to be broadcasting from the studio in Full HD when the new Wake Up set debuts in June?  They are using their phone bank and the Ask Gus area for the morning set from what I can tell on their studio cams on their website.  Anyone knows more about this?

It's possible. The word was that all the locals had budgeted for early 2009 upgrades... all except for 6 because they were being sold... but there was no statement that they WEREN'T going to upgrade... there was just no comment.

6's news ratings have been sliding, and 58 has been catching up, last sweeps showed them in a tie at 10. Maybe HD would give Fox the advantage they'd need to pull back into a solid third place. And in the overinflated view that most broadcasters have of themselves, maybe HD could even catapult them into a serious run against 4 and 12.

That would be cool.  It would be about time. There are several portable HD cameras to do on the spot reports.

Maybe if WDJT-58 upgrades their local news for HD, I am sure it won't take long for the syndication packages of "Jeopardy" and "Wheel" to be broadcast locally in HD.
