I am finally getting rid of TWC and switching to D*TV.  They are coming tomorrow between 8-12 to do the install.

Does anybody who has made the recent switch have any advice on what I can do to make sure my install doesnt take 5-6 hours?  It should be pretty simple, the dish is going on a pole about 4-5 feet from the outside wall.  Once the line in the apartment it only has to go to two TV's so I hope this shouldnt take too long.

While they are doing the installation, get the receivers and hook them up to the TVs yourself. Unless you want them to mess around with your setups.

I was expecting to do that because I dont want my wires messed up.  I've got all my wires tied up neatly and hidden behind my tv and I dont want that to change.

Looks like I'm s.o.l. on the D*TV.  There is one tree in the way and nothing I can do about it.  Unless I can find a non penetrating roof mount for a sloped roof, I'm gonna have to cancel my order with D*TV.

Shawn, do not give up! I am surrounded by trees, infact I should take some pics of my pole mount.  Did premire communications come out to do your install? They came out for my first one and the guy put zero effort into getting me going. Next company that came out the guy spent an hour finding just the right sweet spot between all the trees and whatnot in my way and got us going. How far from your apartment can you go legally?

Our problem isnt just trees, its tall trees.  It was Premier that was here but the guy spent about 45 minutes looking for somewhere to put the dish, with no luck.  He actually got on the roof and would be able to get up over the trees from there.  Problem is, our building owner doesnt want a dish attached to the building so I need to find some type of non-penetrating roof mount for a slanted roof.  They are out there for flat roofs, but I'm not having much luck finding one for a slanted roof.

I dont know how big the dish is.  The one that they brought with for the install was the Slimline.  I'm pretty sure it was bigger than 24 inches though.
