Hah!  There a reason I always buy my cables online.

From day 1 I haven't bought into this Monster thing.  Same goes for 'gold' series connectors for coax, HDMI and video.
Yes, there is bit of power sent to speakers, but not to the extent you need to run six gauge wire... especially for the short runs in most setups.  And if you did need it, go to Ace and buy some good lamp cord.
Don't get me wrong... I love it when I see kids (and adults) pulling out their wallet to buy the stuff.  It helps keep the economy moving! :D
When I see $20 coax cables and a $29 Ethernet jumpers for sale, I have to laugh.  It just blows me away.  You can buy 1000' of CAT5 for under $100.  RG6 may set you back an additional $25 or so.  Fittings are cheap too.

I don't know what was more entertaining. The article or the pages of comments

Thanks for the humor break. Now its time for me to get back to work...

Talos4

$50.00 for 300 ft of RG6 Coax
$15.00 for 150 ft of 14 ga. lamp cord
$20.00 for Connectors
$.02 for solder

=$85.00

for 140 ft of component cables, 100' of speaker wiring.

And plenty left over to wire the deck and my workshop!

Thanks Home Depot!!
