Til Brett or Brett's mouthpiece Al Jones says it I'm not 100% convinced

Official Press statement has been released by Ted Thompson with the Official announcement.

I don't have the time to hunt down a link.

Besides, Packers.com is extremely slow right now.

I heard the release read on Sirius NFL Radio.

Sad Day indeed!

Look on the bright side, GB still has the best QB in the division. :D

It's been a GREAT Ride!!!!

Definitely a sad day for the state of WI and the Packers organization, but he will go out on the top.  This past season was incredible, while we didn't make it all the way we have nothing to hang our heads about.

Farve is one of the greatest football players ever, while he will leave a big hole in the Packers organization, his legacy will live on forever.  Cheers to you, Mr. Farve, thank you for 16 wonderful years!

Now we Packers fans will know what the rest of the NFL feels like when a QB goes down during a game. He was the the last real "Ironman" of the NFL. There will never be another player with his enthusiasm and effort who earnestly enjoyed playing the game. We are saddened by his departure but we should feel honored to have had him on our team.

Thanks for all of the great memories Brett!

Ralph Kramden

Being a Bears fan, I was hoping he'd be back. I still say I'll believe it when he's not on the roster opening day.

He will be deeply missed. I just hope we Packers fans are not headed for years of endless losing seasons. Been there...done that!

Brett was one of those rare players that even fans of apposing teams may have hated to play against him..... still respected what he represented on and off of the field.
