I'm begining to wonder if my Road Runner connection is too slow? I have TWC's All-In-One package and my computer gets connectivity via a wireless router connected to another computer in the house.

Here's the speed test results:

Does that look normal? If you have Road Runner could you please post your results in this thread? Go here:

http://www.speedtest.net/

do the test (I selected the Germantown server), and then paste in the "Forum" link code.

Thanks. :)

You should be getting 7m down, 512k up.

Hmmm okay... I wonder why my connection isn't up to these numbers?

It wasn't too clear to me in the first post, but is the computer your testing wireless?  If so, try a computer that's wired to the router.  If it's not higher then, you either have a signal problem or need a new modem.

Yes the one I'm testing is wireless.

Wireless connection via Linksys router, HP Pavillion desktop computer, circa 2003. I live in G-town. I have RR turbo service.

I get mixed results with wireless so that's why I factor that in.  I don't know if there's just a lot of interference in my house or if the walls are blocking the signal too much, but I definitely prefer wired over wireless if I'm looking for a decent, stable connection to the internet.  My PS3 works so much better with the wired connection when playing games online.

That's with Road Runner Turbo.  I got the same speed selecting Germantown.

I guess the question is,

If you pay the additional $10/mo or whatever it is for Turbo or Business Class, (not sure what the fee is,) what exactly do they do?  Do they put you on a different server with more bandwidth and higher speeds?  What's on the Turbo/Business package that gives users the speed increase?

I really haven't noticed any slowdown, but I came from an awful DSL company (Athenet) and before that, dial up with the same awful company.  For the little crap that I download, I don't think an upgrade to Road Runner Turbo or Business class would make a difference.

I went from 28.8kbps dial-up with a local ISP to Road Runner so I guess I shouldn't complain either. It is plenty fast for what I use it for...
