HD Slingbox

What interests me the most is that it accepts analog component inputs and then (must) convert to digital high definition video for streaming over the internet...  

This is the first "consumer" device I've heard of that converts HD from analog component...  Or are there others out there???

So, does this mean that (soon) there will be a method for me to get the HD video off of my (pay TV) converter box for storage onto a PC hard drive for viewing or perhaps archiving off to optical media later on??
