What happened to the Ask Gus show?

When did FOX6 pull the plug on Ask Gus? He used to be on Sat. mornings at 9:00 AM. I went to flip it on last week and he wasn't there. Just more new home building shows.

I suppose that maybe Gus is winding down and getting ready to retire.

It seems that all the local stations are moving toward younger news staff to try to reach the younger viewer demographics (which I can understand). It looks like that is what forced out many of the WTMJ news staff like Mike G., Paul J. and Jim O. (to name a few). Too bad we loose all the experience to better looks.

I couldn't agree more.

I have wondered the same thing. I don't think Gus was on the past 2 weeks. Maybe he's done his "fall finale" just like most shows. We'll see if he returns early next year.

Maybe because of the writers strike!

According to Tim Cuprisin's column from 11/20/07, Gus' show is no more:

QuoteChannel 6 is expanding some of its newscasts and ending "Ask Gus." The fix-it show airs its swan song Saturday morning at 9 after 15 years. Host Gus Gnorski will continue at the station.

I will miss it, since it usually featured something of interest.  Since then, they have sprinkled some of his home tips throughout various news broadcasts, but it's just not the same.

I remember one time while camping at our RV near Tampa Bay, Florida watching "Ask Gus" Gus Gnorski doing the show on ch. 13 a Fox affilaite there O&O by the same folks at WITI-6.  Course now WITI-TV is for sale. Who knows? Maybe CBS-TV will buy and return it to CBS affiliation.  Just my opinion thou....I like it with 6 being Fox.
