So, previously I had my DVD player go into the cable box using RCA cables and then the box going to the TV with RCA cables.  To watch a DVD all I would have to do is turn off the cable box and the DVD picture appeared.  Since the upgrade this no longer works.  Is there anything I can do to make this work?  This is a just small TV in the bedroom and has only one set of RCA inputs and the cable box doesn't have a coax out (which really ticked me off).

I would suggest a simple component video or composite video (since I don't know your cabling) switcher you can buy from RadioShack, Best Buy or Circuit City.
Check with the websites for simple A/V switchers for best price, as these can be very inexpensive.
You plug the outputs from the cable box for audio and video and then your DVD player to the back of the switcher and the main output goes to your TV set.
Then make sure these inputs are active on your set.
You then can switch back and forth by pushing a button on the box to change your inputs.
Hope this helps you out-check to see if you at the very least have yellow, red and white RCA-type input jacks on your TV, to start out.
If you have red/blue/green together, even better (component video).

I was really trying to avoid getting a switcher...I'd rather get a new TV with more than one input before I got a switcher.

Why did this functionality go away?  I saw in the settings a Bypass setting - something about allowing non-digital channels to be tuned when the cable box is off-but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Sorry, I didn't know, it just seemed for a few bucks, it was cheaper to use a switcher that buy a new TV.
As for TWC, they have been messing around with the programming in its cable boxes for some time and you could have an older model, too.
If you have standard box (non-DVR), you could already be stuck with "Navigator":
aka: "Crapagator"-God-help-us-all !

That's strange that the box doesn't have coax out.  What kind of box is it?

I didn't even know those AV input connections worked on the boxes.  I'm sure if they're not working with Navigator, they either aren't compatible with the software or TWC just disabled them.

Hi All,

I want to learn about Navigator as much as I can before the scheduled March change-over for the DVR's. Is there closed captioning on the Navigator boxes, and have any of you used it?  How do you get to it?  I ask because being hard of hearing, I use my TV remote (non-cable) for captioning when I need to do that.  What options for captioning are offered on the Navigator boxes?  Passport has captions, but I have never been able to activate them.  (Must be something at their head-end that they don't have turned on.)
