TWC - black screen flashes every two seconds

I've been noticing today that at random, my picture will go black for a second then freeze giving me a sound like a CD skipping, then coming back for two seconds and repeating the same thing over and over.  Sometimes it goes away on its own, other times I have to change the channel.  I've been watching HBO and Showtime mainly.. HD and SD.  Anyone else have this problem, or is it just me?

No...sorry to hear it...have you tried rebooting your cable box?

But maybe its TWC trying to experiment with adding CinemaxHD, The Movie ChannelHD and StarzHD:

I just rebooted now.. hopefully it fixes it.  It got really bad this afternoon.. changing the channel did nothing.

I held off on the rebooting because this box takes forever to boot.  First it has to load the OCAP middleware for about 15-30 seconds, then another 1-2 minutes at least for Navigator to load.

No wonder the TWC subs in the areas (formerly with Passport) in avsforums call Navigator:"Crapagator".:bang:

Between the lack of the other TWC-available HD channels that can be added that have not been:
- This newer god-awful programming in the TWC boxes could just cinch the deal to move to some other payTV provider...good luck.:wave:

Are you hooked up via HDMI? I've had similar problems, and what usually works for me is to unplug the HDMI cable for a few seconds, then plug it back in.

The reboot fixed it I think, though I haven't watched much since then.  I'm using component.. HDMI is too slow with channel changes on the 4250HDC because it switches to the native resolution of the channel rather than converting to the resolution of your choice.

i have the same issue with the SA4250HDC.  TWC did some horrid software upgrade weeks ago and then this nonsense started happening along with not sticking w/ one resolution issue.  argh.

i'm tempted to get the dvr box.
