DiscoveryHD on TWC

I noticed on the AVS forums today that HiscoveryHD is now being broadcast on Time Warner Cable, but alas only in Florida Central.

This is one of the leading cable providers of HDTV as they currently already have 8 channels in HDTV compared to Milwaukee's 2 (I don't count the demo channel as a proper channel).  But lets hope that Time Warner has nationally agreed to providing DiscoveryHD and that it is not only a matter of time?

Still, we are talking Milwaukee here - not the most technologically advanced city.  Our TWC will probably be one of the last TW franchises to offer this channel, but at least there is hope!

Time Warner Cable treats its customers with intelligence and respect IF it feels warranted. Please refer to the website www.twtampabay.com/htdv.cfm  and notice that you DO need a HDTV set for "Digital" and HD, NOT the crap TWC advertises on Milwaukee channels. The whole website explains what SDTV and HDTV is and how to hook up your Explorer 3100HD box and everything. TWC Milwaukee must think that people here are a bunch of idiots and fools.
Which web site locates the Discovery HD listing in Central Florida for TWC? I'd like to see it. (Check out TWC Houston, and note the difference in ANOTHER intellengent website!)

The channel does not currently show on their website, but according to one customer on this AVS thread it appears that they may be testing.

I agree the TWC Houston site is very good.  Makes Milwaukee look like we're still in the stone age.  Perhaps, too much beer drinking goes on at TW Milwaukee??

Thank you for the info...I will be rechecking out the Florida sites for more info. As for the beer drinking, it is very possible but I think if you think small you get small results:  Milwaukee needs to "raise the bar"-and that has nothing to do with taverns. In the Midwest, not even Houston, TWC has Minneapolis, and while I wouldn't live there, it has similarities and size to Milwaukee ( and beer !) TWC site shows a modest HD offering on its channel listing, 2 HBO and 2 Showtime HD channels, along with their local UPN, FOX and WCCO    ( CBS ) so why not Milwaukee's TWC? This shows that it can be done on cable and no flirting with antennas. Heck, I'd get cable back in my house in Kenosha if TWC gave me CBS and 2 extra premiums in HD - tomorrow and take down that dish they hate so much. I'd take what Minneapolis TWC has over HDNet anyday. Check for "3100HD" (the box) for a search for the website. Not as chic as Houston TWC but functional.
