No HD for Cold Case and Shark on CBS 58 tonight?

Does any one know why Cold Case and Shark were not in HD tonight on CBS 58? This isn't the first time either. Last week was the same thing. Are they having problems at the station, or is it with the feed from CBS?

negative Revmim, don't make a hasty conclusion.
Since we carried the second game only this weekend, we are provided with the SD feed only from CBS.  This SD feed follow the timeline set by the ending of the second game, hence the reason why the programming was about 20 minutes late.  This happens to all stations, depending on their game assignments from CBS.

This still doesn't answer the question............Why no HD/Widesceen on CBS 58 after football game delays on Sundays??  I talked to "Nicole" at TWC and she was totally clueless.

It's probably kind of like why Jeopardy and WOF are in SD. Something about how the local channel doesn't have the ability to delay broadcast an HD signal. If they cannot pass through the HD signal live, it seems like they can only do SD on a time delay.
Did this make sense? I guess CBS58 can't just use an HD DVR to play it at a different time.

See answer above - No HD feed to the affiliate from CBS.

I guess a HD DVR doesn't qualify as broadcast equipment.

you can not tell me that all the stations that carried 2nd game , showed Cold Case on SD because of time delay. This is on top of CBS 58's problem with Directv.

So much of this stuff is running on automation systems I don't think it it would be as simple as just recording the HD network feed and playing it back later. I'm not a broadcast engineer, but with the combination of Network and local spots I'm not sure how all that would work, but I'll bet is not as easy as we think.

It is more surprising to me that CBS doesn't have a way to feed two HD signals to the affiliates than it is that 58 doesn't have an HD record/playback capability.

Had Eastern Time Zone affiliates both with and without the lone available second game last week, both showed HD feeds either appropriately delayed or on time without issues. Should not have been an issue in Milwaukee either.

On a similar note, I just tuned into WISN to watch the re-run of the Festival Of Lights parade originally broadcast on WLS/HD out of Chicago a week ago (live).  Unfortunately, WISN did not show the HD replay...what a difference.  When I watched it live, it really was spectacular.  And, the sound engineers did a phenomal job treating us to the sounds of the marching bands bouncing off of the tall buildings.  It's too bad that WISN viewers couldn't enjoy the full HD experience that WLS/HD viewers had a week ago.  And, WISN further messed it up by putting their obnoxious logo on the screen...WLS had no logo when it was broadcast live.

WGN/HD broadcasted the Christmas Day parade in HD as well a few days ago.  Again, their HD coverage was wonderful.  Their sound engineers are every bit as good as the folks over at WLS...the 5.1 surround sound made it seem like I was right there on the street with the marching bands.

I hope that all Milwaukee viewers will soon be able to view (and hear) the quality TV that is coming out of Chicago.  You will be pleasantly amazed at how good the viewing experience is when presented in HD (with 5.1 audio).
