Two 4221s rather than one 4228?

I live in Milwaukee near Hampton and Appleton. I know a lot of people here like the Channel Master 4228. However, my concern is picking up both Fox 6 and "all" the other major channels (4, 10, 12, etc). Specifically, AntennaWeb says Fox is at 31 degrees, but most everything else is between 89 and 106. I figure there is too much separation between the transmitters...

So, my logic is this:
  • I live well within range of all the Milwaukee stations I want; the 4221 should work fine to pick them up.
  • The 4221 is about half the price of a 4228
  • I can aim one 4221 at channel 6, the other at everything else

Any thoughts on my setup?

Thanks...
Jason

Keep it simple,

One antenna the 4221 will be fine.

From where you're at, point the antenna East SE.

You're basically going to aim at a point between Lincoln park (Hampton and Green Bay road)(12,41,58)

and the Estabrook park area (Capitol and Humboldt) (4,6,10,18,24,30,36).

The separation between the transmitters is about 3-4 mile as the crow files.

You should do just fine with that antenna.

where is the channel 6 transmitter? Antenna web seemed to think it was in Brown Deer.

I attached the picture below.... "A" is channel 6.1

When Fox first got their digital signal up, they were transmitting from their station in Brown Deer.  This was before they went HD, it was called Faux Widescreen.

A while back they switched to HD and moved the transmitter down by the rest of the stations.  Antenna web must not be up to date.

Looking at the map, Just put "A" Fox 6 in the same place as B,C & D.

Antennaweb thinks Fox 6 is still broadcasting their digital signal with the rusty coat hanger and 2 "AA: batteries off their radar tower that they were using a couple years ago.

The channel 6 tower is in Estabrook Park. Drive down Capitol drive east of Humboldt Blvd and you can't miss it. It's the White freestanding tower.

As you go East you also cannot miss the other towers in the immediate area.

Yup... I'm familiar with the location. I used to live right there. I'm pretty sure thunderstorms were much louder due to the towers :)

Anyway, thanks for the tips and confirming the transmitter location. I knew they had a tower in Estabrook, especially considering the station name is on it. I just wasn't sure which was out of date... the tower or Antenna Web.
