That is sooooo true, it will be interesting to see what TWC cable will do now, that the cat is out of the bag and everyone including my 70 year old mother now is asking why TWC suck so bad. LOL

I also hope Tim Cuspirin takes note of his own paper that cable is losing thousands of customers to satellite service.

Because according to Timmy, satellite TV is a non-factor in Milwaukee.

Same with Woelfel.  He never mentions anything about sat because there is such a "low number" of customers who have it. :rolleyes:

Even todays article by Walker mentions nothing about HD which is also pretty incredible.

Got to love the part where the writer says, quote :
"You don’t go home and say "I had a phenomenally clear telephone call from my cable company"
and then he goes on to say, quote:
"You do go home and say, ‘I watched something mind-blowing on TV.’”
It also underscores the cableco "mindset", quote as follows:
"Until recently, cable has been focused on building out high-speed Internet and voice offerings".

Sound familiar?
TWC and other cablecos have been too deep into their telephone and internet offerings, to remember where they all started: cableTV.

Its like an HD "war" of who has the most HD channels and the consumer will win.

Now, lets see if TWC locally can read the the "HD handwriting" on the wall.

Wow.  Not many positive comments for TWC on the JS site.  The "cat is out of the bag"  It looks to me like people were just looking for a place to pile it on and found it in that forum.

Its a weird felling.  Hard to describe.  Kind of like being chained to a chair for a long time.....and then suddenly....freedom.  Free at last, Free at last, Thank God almighty I'm Free at last.

I can't wait to go there on Wed, officially cancel, and drop all my boxes in their lap and tell them WHY I canceled. No HD, No BTN, No NHL, No NFL.  

No more broken promises, no more lousy service and no more lousy HD.

I still like the idea of all services consolidated on one bill.  We are saving about $30/$40 a year over when we used to have separate providers for phone and Internet.

If I can save $40 for Internet and phone then my bill would be close to $0:D
I have RR from TWC ($34.95/month) and VOIP Telebland for phone ($12.95/month unlimited calling in US). If ATT will finally get us DSL here, I will save even more:)
Never beleived in the hype of consolidated bill. It will not save you money and/or quality of service (HD, B10, NFL). If you look around you will find better options.

I didn't realize how widespread it was either.  In fact, I have two guys at work that are waiting to hear about my installation/switching experience and if it's positive, are thinking about switching.

I don't officially have it yet, and I may already have 2 referrals!!

This may be the tip of the iceberg.  It will be interesting to see the cable subscriber numbers at the end of the year and the end of the first quarter 2008.

Yup, some think it's a small local group of DTV "Fanboys" on this board that think TWC sucks.  Now it's finally being shown that it's widespread and people are dumping TWC in droves. And not just for DTV.  Dish and ATT are also good alternatives.

Yes.  I was going to wait for ATT to get to Waterford, but I can't find anyone at ATT or online that can give me an estimated date for my area...so I pulled the trigger on DTV.  Thanks mostly to a current subscriber that answered all of my questions.  I think he was a better CSR than the customer service reps at TWC.
