"The largest gain came from Time Warner Cable, which posted 28 percent higher profits as it absorbed new subscribers from bankrupt Adelphia Communications Corp. and also signed up more customers for premium services including digital phone and high-speed Internet."

It is always interesting to read about TW Cable's corporate business, but then we are told that the TW Cable on the local level
- plays a different "game" called "franchise" with its own contracts and such.

It is somewhat difficult to separate the two entities when one TWC location is getting more HD channels vs. another, all under the "TWC" logo, as if they are all one big "family"...and they're not.:D

TW Cable is big on its internet and digital phone additions to its cable TV business and that is justified, but that should not detract from their HDTV business.
It is apparent TW Cable is pushing the first two with less emphasis on the cableTV portion, which could "bite" them in the end over time.
