It's Official TWC Sucks!

Steve it's very disheartening, the President of BTN said on the scale of 1-10 1 being not even talking and 10 being the ink is drying he said that the deal with TWC is about a 2.
He made a pretty good case against TWC.
He said that TWC isn't even talking to them, not even trying to make any sort of deal. OMG!!!!

Oh, man! I'll have to see if I can get that past the 'boss'. I'm not sure she'll see the wisdom of the idea though.

Yes, U-verse has the B10 network.  I watched last week's Badger game in HD and am planning on doing the same for the OSU game this week.

My boss has a D* install scheduled Friday morning. The straw that broke his (WI Alum) back was the BTN carrying this Sat.'s OSU game AND hearing that some 16 or 18 men's BB games would also be exclusively on the BTN.

Ironically, what's killing me is TWC is the sole carrier for about 15 Marquette BB games this season on some TWC sports channel - I have D* and ended up buying tix for a few more games as a result.

You're flat out wrong.  These are public institutions, funded by tax dollars.  I think people were OK when the conference was signing contracts with television networks and getting income that way.  But now they've created their own network to make even more money - and are keeping the very people that fund those institutions from watching the product that they are paying for.  It's definitely time for the government to step in and decide WHO owns the broadcast rights to these games and WHY.  Is the BTN paying the taxpayers for the broadcast rights to these games?  Or did they just decide that they own the rights?  If the laws need to be updated to account for 21st century greed, then update them.  This is a gray area that needs to be addressed.  Looking at it from a market forces / BTN vs TWC standpoint is completely missing the big picture.

*-The reason I feel all the hosts (Needles, Olson, Homer) get it for free is because everytime they talk about how they DVR'd something, they won't just say it like that, they'll say, "Last night I used my Time Warner DVR to tape....." giving them free commercial time about 6 times per hour.

Yup TWC is a big sponsor on WAUK.  They broadcast from the "Time Warner Studio".  They deserve each other.

I don't like the government getting involved either.  Cable is no longer a monopoly.  Consumers (most anyway) have a choice.  TWC has been screwing themselves with poor customer service, lack of HD and now this, let them keep losing customers.

I totally agree, any time the government get involved things just get worst.
The thing with TWC is that they make sooooo much money off of us that they can bend just a bit to do this. That rep from TWC cable sounded like a total fool on the radio today. OMG I can't believe the BS he had to say. The dude from the BTN network was ready with all the answers, and he came ready to speak to those guys on 1250 AM today. The dude from TWC sounded like he was on a cell phone drivng somewhere totally not prepared to answer questions. He even sounded surprised how mad people are about this issuss.

Lets talk about how much money RUPERT MURDOCH is going to make from the BTN he got the Big Ten to put up the money and he  owns half of the BTN and he already has 37 Billion dollars and pobably more by now. This is all plot by Rupert to make him even richer, and you guys fall for it. And he isn't even an AMERICAN
