DirecTV NBC HD Audio Issue

I'm a DirecTV subscriber encountering audio issues with WTMJ-NBC HD content (no issues with other HD signals).  Issue involves occasional loss of audio anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds.  I've rebooted the DTV receiver to no avail. Has anyone experienced this issue and have you been able to resolve it?

Wow, I thought it was just me.  I just recently figured out that it was limited to NBC.  I noticed it, but didn't realize the pattern was limited to NBC.  I've been recording my shows from NBCHD from D*.  My plan was to setup Heroes to record from D* and OTA, and when an audio drop out occurs this Monday I was going to bounce to the OTA recording and see if it happens there too.

Another thing I noticed was that occasionally my audio and video are out of sync.  Like the audio drop outs, I haven't nailed it down to a specific network.  I've just been kinda dealing with it.

This is happening on my HR20.

Yup, I am with both of you...no matter what show it is, I get a 5 second blank audio segment on my HR20, but never on the H20.  Never any longer than that.  It normally seems to happen within the first few minutes of the program, but I have seen it elsewhere in the show.  Keep us posted on the OTA trials...I may have to switch all the recordings.  I have seen the audio sync issue, but only very rarely.  When I do see it, changing the channel, and coming back has worked every time thus far.

Same issue here with the audio drop outs on D* - and just with TMJ-HD.  Not much in the way of synch problems, though.

Count me in as well. It sometimes even will "stutter" for about 2-4 seconds before locking in the signal. I wonder if it is a dolby digital problem. I might try to switch to PCM on the D* box, and see if the issue is still there.

I have encountered the same problem with the HR20 and only on DirecTV's HD WTMJ 4.  It usually happens when programming returns after a commercial break.  No sync issues.

I was finally able to catch up on Heroes.  I recorded it both on D* NBC and OTA NBC.  I watched the D* version and DID have audio dropouts.  I noted the time and immediately started watching the OTA broadcast.  I FF to a few seconds before the time mark where the audio dropout happened and... NO dropouts.  I went back to the D* broadcast and continued watching.

There were 3 audio dropouts on the D* broadcast and none in the OTA broadcast.  From memory, the only I remember exactly the time the audio dropout was 14 minutes into the show.  I don't remember the exact seconds, but I'm positive it was 14 minutes.

So, what do you guys think?  Seems sporadic.  STB issue?
