I called up TWC today because I wanted to see if I could get their Road Runner package reduced. Road Runner is the ONLY thing I will get from TWC.

So I called and said I'm thinking of cancelling Road Runner  because of price and said do they have any deals. The Rep said he would look.

Rep: Well, I see here you have Road Runner, but you don't take advantage of our All-4-One package. Who do you use for your home phone service and who do you use for TV?
Me: I don't have a home phone and I have Direct TV.
Rep: Well, would you consider switching from D* to TWC?
Me: Absolutely not.
Rep: Why not?
Me: They have great sports packages and they have 70 HiDef Channels.
Rep: How many of their HiDef channels do you watch.
Me: Alot of them.
Rep: Well, which ones?
Me: A&E, Smithsonian, HBO, TBS, TNT, Big 10, NFL Network. Say, you don't even offer the Big 10 or NFL in standard definition, do you?
Rep: Let me get you to our promotions department to see if they have any specials to offer you.

It seems TWC's marketing right now is "Well, Direct TV has 70 HiDef channels, but how many of them do you really watch???"

Nice marketing, if you ask me.

btw, I got my Road Runner reduced to $34 for the next year.

A friend of mine got a chance to talk and do an interview with the head of operations at TWC for the retention dept. and it is scary what TWC will do to keep customers.
Scary because if you get the right CSR, hungry for their "quota" to keep folks billing with TWC, the deals us average subs never get...you can get if you push hard.

There apparently a "quota" for each retention rep to achieve (read: keep their job) each week just to keep folks already with TWC from leaving.:D
So if you place your bets and find the right retention person there, you could end of saving some money.
Still, of course, you are still on the losing end of HD channel additions vs. some of the other TWC locations, much less DirectvHD's recent additions.:(

BTW, TWC HD subs, that "10 or more HD channel additions in October" story's truth given to Gregg expires in FOUR DAYS.
-Now that is something you WON'T get from the retention department at TWC locally: More HD channels added.

"All-4-One"?
Now TWC calls it that because of the "Pivot" cellphone addition.
Considering the "fun" my family and I have had with "All-In-One" for the THREE, the "4" has got to be laughable.

As far as the answer to TWC's new BS about "how many of them do you really watch?":
My answer would be either:
1) "It depends on which family member has the interest"
-since TWC is assuming you aren't part of a family, you are the sole subscriber.
OR...
2) "I will watch the ones you don't offer and that is why we're switching to DirectvHD".
