Ok I changed my mind.  TWC cares so much about the good of their customers that I'm switching back tomorrow.  The heck with lower cost, 70 HD channels and better customer service.  TWC cares about me.

According to these figures here second quarter 2007 TWC profits were only less then 10 Percent of income. With revenue of about 4 Billion dollars, and net income of 272 million that works out to about 6.8% profit margin. A far cry from your figures.

Quote
"Time Warner Cable, which also trades as a separate stock since a partial spin-off this year, saw revenue jump 59 per cent to $4 billion helped largely by subscribers acquired in deals with Adelphia Communications and Comcast.
Operating income in cable rose 31 per cent to $711 million Net income dropped 8 per cent to $272 million but still beat analyst forecasts. "

Why are you quoting a confusing article from the UK that is making vague mentions of quarterly earnings when you can easily get the data in plain English?

Plain english and TWC are mutially exclusive.

Of course some of you in never  neverland can't read a financial statement you don't go by the GROSS PROFIT but by  the NET INCOME the net income for TWC
for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007 was $1.02 Billion. not $6.4 billion as some believe. Gross Profit is when the  the day to day operating expenses is subtracted from the total revenue for the financial year and before the other expenses such as money for capital such as loans and interest for the borrowed capital  are included plus numerous other expenses. As I said before study an issue before commenting on it.

Yesterday you wrote: "Maybe TWC is trying to save us some money!".  If you truly believe that (and I don't doubt that you do), then please enjoy the wonderful world of TWC.   If you really did research, as you chide us for not doing, then you would have dumped them a long long time ago.  Talk about living in neverneverland, lol.

TWC stock value has dropped 30% this year, with over half that loss occurring in the last two months. Obviously, there are several factors contributing to that.

Not sure how much D*'s rollout of all the new HD channels, and the lack of a deal with the NFL and the Big Ten is hurting them on Wall Street, but it sure seems to be making a lot of unhappy people on main street.

Just to chime in - the picture quality of the UW-Indiana game on BTN-HD on D* was outstaning last Saturday.  And the outcome was pretty good, too.

And Wayne Larrivee does a great job as the TV play by play guy...

I've actually never been much of a Badgers fan in the past.. mostly because I knew I they wouldn't be broadcasting all the games. But being able to see almost, if not every one of them in HD this season, I haven't missed a game.

But TWC is just thinking of their customers, trying to save them money.  If they carried BTN they would be "forced" to raise rates!

And even if/when they offer BTN and NFLN it won't be in HD.
