Do we have any list on what these channels will be?

Since I'll have to replace my dish and get a new receiver or two as well as make special arrangements to receive the OTA digital channels, it would be great to use DirecTV's new SWM technology, to minimize the number of wires in the lash-up.  But, D* is being very closed-mouth about when this new stuff will become available.  I don't want to re-wire for yesterday's technologies, so I think I'm going to wait until the SWM hardware comes on the market.

I'm assuming D* will roll out SWM soon, and since it is a major upheaval for me, with several receivers, a new dish, an OTA antenna, new wiring (my old cables are copper-over-steel, and the new ones have to be solid copper) run underground to the house, etc., I'd rather just do it once, with a professional install, with as few cables as possible.

D* just won't say when the SWM hardware will be available, and the order takers either don't know, or won't say, so I'm sitting and waiting for a while.

Hope you get your answer soon, since you have a "few" HDTVs to watch.:D
They need some more HD channels to be "fed" to.

My install is 2 weeks away. I hope it's available so I can diplex my OTA to one single wire. I guess you would not be needing the BBC either.

...and those of us stuck with TW Cable weep a little bit more each day...

Rumored rollout is Sept 19th... several D* CSR's have been telling customers over the phone.

I got a solid signal on Satellite 103b Transponder 11 last night..a very good sign.

But the question now is what channels are coming first, when do the rest come, and perhaps the biggest question:

How much extra is it gonna cost?

Read THIS and see if you can figure it out.

Here is their brand new page as of last night. There are discrepancies amongst what is on here, what's been "leaked", and what the new "HD Extra" pack will include or if it's even real.. but all of this means we are yet one step closer to these channels being lit up!!!

Yes, its a repeat performance of the early 1990's when cable folks migrated to satellite because they offered more channels, better picture (no analogue channels) and more options and pricing.:(

Once again cable hasn't (as of yet) a clue and this time around, satellite is poised to kick some "HD butt"!

If the CSR's are telling customers the 19th, I would guess it may happen earlier, the 19th being the last date in the window.
