Wife called this a.m. before she left for work ~ 8 a.m.  Said she saw two guys in our backyard near the electical pole.  She asked if there was anything that she could do for them and was told that they were testing the new ATT TV service.

I've been noticing a lot of activity in the neighborhood lately, so I'm guessing it'll be here soon.  Don't see U-verse as an on-line option for my address, only E*.

Does anyone know if you can get internet only through U-verse? or is the internet service just their standard dsl service?  I just re-signed w/ D* for another 2 years so am not in the market for a new provider.

FYI  - We live South of Bluemound Rd and West of SunnySlope Rd.

U-verse is active in some areas of Brookfield.  The AT&T store on Bluemound has a demo of it.

It sounds like you can get Internet only, but only if you get the TV part as well then cancel it (TV is free for a month and no contracts).  I don't know for a fact on that though.   It's not the same as their normal DSL service.  It's VDSL, not ADSL like standard DSL.. you'll get a 1mbps upload speed... download speeds are the same as the standard DSL packages.  You may want to ask first if you can just get the Internet portion.

The only people that can get Internet Only Uverse are FTTP customers (only Pabst Farms).  In order to get the Internet you must have the IPTV (otherwise they send you to DSL), however it is correct if you order both and then later cancel the IPTV you can keep the Uverse Internet.
