Thank god! No more home shopping!

I wonder what they'll do with it?  Move WMLW or WYTU? Start a new channel alltogether?

It'd be nice if they moved WMLW off the WDJT subchannel... allow for more bandwidth for CBS HD programming.

Ideally, when NCAA season comes around again, they'd have WJJA for the multicast programming, and keep WDJT as the full-res CBS HD games.

Here's a quote form an article from the Business Journal:
QuoteOnce the transaction receives regulatory approvals and closes, Weigel Broadcasting plans to convert Channel 49, which runs infomercials, to "a general market TV station," said Jim Hall, who manages Weigel's three Milwaukee stations. He declined to specify what programming would replace WJJA's infomercials from the Shop at Home network and Jewelry TV.
It sounds like there's a chance we may see more programming on this channel, not just infomercials.

It would be nice if WMLW, WYTU, and WJJA could all exist as substations on their own frequency, freeing up 58.1 for just CBS.

Of course, there's also the horrible possibility that they might try adding WYTU and WJJA as 58.3 and 58.4.  In that case, CBS would be completely unwatchable.

I'm hoping if we're lucky that WJJA becomes something like what WWME is- showing classic TV 24/7 (or close to it). That would be nice. I'm glad they got the station because at least they'll do something unique with it.

I hope so.  Yeah WMLW shows some old stuff, but they lean towards airing newer syndicated programming.  I like to see old shows like "Ozzie & Harriet", "Jeff's Collie", Timmy and Lassie", "Make Room for Daddy", "The Flying Nun", "Dick Van Dyke Show", "I Love Lucy", "Here's Lucy", "Hazel", "Please Don't Eat the Daisies", "That Girl", "Hogan's Heroes", "Partridge Family", "Room 222", "Hawaii Five-O", "Mannix", "Time Tunnel", "Star Trek" with William Shattner, I could go on and on and on...and bring back the 1 hour daily "The Bowling Game" which would offer local bowlers a chance to win prizes.  And put in HD Playback equipment so if a syndicated program is available in HD broadcast it in HD.  Do Bowling Game in HD.

Thank You,

There was talk of WMLW moving to Channel 49 but WMLW has released their fall schedule and I havn't heard anything on TV about the station moving, so I'm assuming WJJA will re-brand (?) with syndicated programing of some kind in the next month or two. Nothing's changed on WJJA as of yet.

I guess Weigel Broadcasting and WJJA have something going.  They are working on moving WJJA-DT on ch. 48 to the WDJT ch. 58 tower.  The WJJA-TV ch. 49 analog will remain at its present location in Racine since it will be shut off anyways on February 17, 2009. They hope to have the WJJA-DT transmitter and antenna on top of the WDJT-58 tower by fall.

Actually they would only need the transmitter because they can use the same antenna they are using now for WDJT-DT since WDJT-DT is on ch. 46 and WJJA-DT is on 48. SO having an antenna designed to resonate on ch. 47 would even it out. But I am sure it is actually designed to resonate on ch. 46.

I am basing this on the fact WVTV-DT wanted to move to ch. 24 while WCGV is on 25 and save the cost of money by using the same antenna.

If WMLW-TV on ch. 41 moves to WJJA ch. 49 what will become of 41? OTA or Jewerly TV or Home Shopping?  I would expect WDJT-DT to free bandwidth by dropping 58-2 and will have 49-1 instead.

I assume that if WMLW moves to 49, then then 41 goes dark, and Shop At Home/Jewelry TV is history.

What I find most interesting is if that happens, how will Time Warner handle it? Will they move WJJA To Channel 7 and put something else on Channel 19?
