599 for just a OTA box. That's a rip. How much more is the 160 with Directv?

RRP

No, the SIR-T151 is only OTA. The SIR-T165 is, and correct me if I'm wrong, satellite and OTA, with DVI and Firewire.

Correction.

The T165 is OTA only, but it has DVI and Firewire which will allow you to make recordings onto a DVHS recorder.

The T160 includes satellite reception and DVI out, but it does not have the firewire connection so you can not make any recordings from it.

To me, I find both a compromise.

Lets say I purchase a STB(sat and OTA) w/o DVI but my RPTV has DVI out(which many high end 2003 RPTV models supposeldley have) Can I use the DVI out from the RPTV to record to D-VHS? If so would there be a quality degradation of the source vs. recording directly from STB with DVI out?
