Who's Getting An iPhone?

I'm one of the guinea pigs that bought one. The EDGE does suck I'll give you that. The interface however is sweet and fast. I mean it has a 600Mhz processor which I believe is faster than most other PDA/Smartphones. It's been hacked already so that's always a plus. They have a bunch of web apps already. http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/iphone-software/
Plus you  have an 8GB drive. Most PDA's/Smartphones only use MicroSD which is still stuck on 2GB. I believe 4GB is out but not readily available. And nothing can beat the interface of the ipod part of it. So now I don't have to have a phone and ipod to lug around. The form factor is great too. I also was looking at the 8525 but I always here about freezing, lagging and the fact you have to end task programs all the time. With the iPhone I get none of that.

I'm waiting for them to add a GPS then I'll have another less gadget to carry.

Yeah GoogleMaps is the poor man's GPS. One thing it does have is the satellite view which a GPS does not have that I know of. I have a Mio GPS and it works great. One other thing I forgot to mention is the data plan. The $20 for unlimited data is the best deal out there.

All those problems are gone once you upgrade to Windows Mobile 6. The 8525 will be shipping with that by this fall.

As for the ipod interface, to each his own. Many people like it, I can't stand it. I prefer scroll wheels, 8-way navigation rockers, etc. I know many people love the ipod interface, but I abandoned my ipod years ago because the interface was to counter-intuitive and clunky to me.

Just like going from XP to Vista all the problems are gone. :)

Nope, Vista is flawed. Since I upgraded to WM6 over a month ago, I haven't had a single lockup or need to reboot. I never turn my phone off, it just gets docked to charge every few days.

I was all set to get one, but decided to get one of these to hold me over til and iPhone v2 or greater on a 3G network.

I'd sure prefer iPhone's browser to the typical mobile browser this one has, but that's about the only regret. And I got it for 173 bucks, so can put the extra money toward a bigger DLP for the basement. ;)

From specs:
Compatible with Nokia Wireless Keyboard (sold separately)

Nice concept if most of what you use the phone for can be done with only the numeric keypad and a few toggle buttons.

But I use keyboard functions more often than I use the phone itself, and having to carry around two devices would be a PITA for me. If I wanted to do that, I would have just gotten a real small phone and a small wireless Internet appliance.

If only the family plans were not so dang expensive. . . If we had 3G around here it may be worth it.

I'll get one when ATT's exclusive ends.

I'd get one if the plans weren't so expensive.  Is it up $70 a month now that they added the cheaper 3G iPhone?  I pay $30 a month for unlimited data, unlimited texts and 500 minutes through Sprint.  Also.. better coverage than AT&T IMO in the places I've been.
