Brewers in HD

So when they advertise that they are broadcasting in HD who exactly is getting it in HD?  I'm in Kenosha and FSN HD is black and it doesn't show as HD in the guide - although that hasn't been updated since early May.

Nothing Doing here in Kenosha.  The last few Brewers games that were supposed to be in HD were not on (in HD) in Kenosha.  Just a black screen on 531.  Sometimes with sound, sometimes not even that.  It seems strange that some TW customers around here would get the game in HD and others not.  Is there some type of Blackout in Kenosha?  I'ver even talked to friends in Racine and they didn't get it either.  These days I don't even have the Test pattern on 531 any more.  Just a blank screen.  Anybody have any Ideas?  mhz40 do you know anything about this?  It's getting kind of frustrating.  Now even DTV has the game in HD and I dont!

I'm up in Grafton and I've noticed a couple times now when the game has started, FSN-HD (531) on TW is black.  Once, it came on finally after the 3rd inning, another time midway through the first.

I'm not sure who keeps "dropping the ball" with the HD feed, but it is a bit silly that more than once (when there aren't than many Crew games in HD to begin with) the HD feed of the game has issues while the game is running fine on channel 31.

Yeap same here, I haven't seen any Brewers HD here in Racine, and as far as 531, I haven't seen one show on it the whole year. I love how TWC keep that channel live, just to say that it have one more HD channel.

I'm watching the game today and they showed one of the cameramen, his camera was an HD camera.  So why isn't he game in HD?  In fact why isn't EVERY game in HD?

I think the problem isn't the cameras, it's the truck... the standard truck that they have in is a SD truck. I think when they do HD, they contract out to bring in an HD production truck, and there's an additional cost involved there.

The good news is that as the Brewers continue to do well, that improves ratings, ratings mean additional advertising revenue, which means that additional games can be carried in HD.

A better question that should be asked: why does FSN Wisconsin HD have to go dark when it's not carrying an HD game? Why can't it be like ESPN HD/ESPN2 HD, and just pillarbox and upconvert the 4:3 SD stuff? Even upconverted/pillarboxed, it's gotta look much better in digital versus the analog channel 31.

That would explain why there are never any road games in HD.  With viewership high hopefully Attanasio will do what it takes to get most games in HD.  He seems vary aware of current technology.  The Bucks on the other hand I have little hope for.  I've called/emailed them for years about HD, they don't seem to know what I'm talking about.  Steinmiller runs the business side, he's been there since  the beginning, things move at a glaciers pace at the BC.

Sometimes it's been on channel 95 and lately channel 730 or 731 (730 I think it was).
