FSN-HD this weekend.  Any idea, since DirecTV isn't showing it, as to if they will be broadcasting those two games on one of the 90s channels?  I know the May 1st game never appeared... just wondering if customer service needs to be called to try and see this game.

Don't understand why TWCable gets them, yet DirecTV rarely gets these games.  Anybody with knowledge?

No replies from anybody???  I thought this was the forum for this kind of stuff...

Thanks.

Since half the reason I have cable is to watch brewers games, I did some looking in to this a few months back when I was about to jump ship to DirecTV.

From what I could gather, DirecTV can only show so many HD feeds from regional sports networks at any given time.  And since the brewers have only 18 games on FSNHD, and are a small market, I think it only rarely shows up on those 90's channels you mention.  Someone with DirecTV could answer better.  TWC has devoted an entire "channel" to HD brewer's games and the occasional College football/basketball game in the fall on FSN.

ESPN and FOX choose their games to show for the 2nd half of the season after the all star game based on current team performance.  So I'm hoping we'll have more brewers and less redsox/yankees on national HD feeds in the 2nd half of the season.

It has to do with the contract, FSN-HD can't show tonights game.

Could you elaborate on the "contract" obligations.  The number of games broadcast in HD are already limited but for D* not to even pickup  those games has me pulling my hair out!

I was hoping when extra capacity came available, our chances of seeing these games in HD would improve.

from my understanding (I'm waiting for a specialist to call), we don't get those games unless we're in the "Superfan package"... Which is a bunch of crap, because to my knowledge, we got these channels last year (94 or 95).  All of a sudden, there's some kind of "change" to the packages??? Why not notify and let their customers know.  I mean, the Brewers only get 17 HD broadcast games this year through FSN-HD, and TWC gets them.. why don't DTV??  It's just BS, and if and when I hear from a "specialist" I will relay the info on.

I just can't believe that more people haven't been complaining that are DirecTv users.  I mean, I see FSN-HD on the schedule, i expect HD programming for us.  Just flat out sucks.

I have superfan and didn't get the games. Can't wait to hear what the specialist says. I'm mad too we don't get these.

I'm not sure what the contract says, but for some reason FSNHD wasn't able to broadcast them...this is not just for RR but also AT&T Uverse put out the alert that the games wouldn't be available.  So chase after FSNHD, not your provider.

Uverse isn't a channel it's AT&T's IPTV.....a competitor to Cable and Satellite.

I was watching FSNHD via AT&T's Uverse television service.  No TWC.  No D*.

I was looking at the Uverse channel lineup for milwaukee and didn't see any specific channel for FSNHD, only "regular", which decreased my excitment level about it.  This post leads me to believe UVerse does show FSNHD content.  Do they have a dedicated channel, do they create a temporary channel for the game, or does the regular channel "switch to HD"?

From a news release at DirecTV:

"In addition to the networks listed below, DIRECTV also plans to offer the HD feeds of regional sports networks on a nationwide basis this fall, and has commitments from a number of other networks to launch their HD simulcasts. They will be added to the lineup for launch by year-end and will be announced at a later date."

and this:

"DIRECTV's industry leading lineup of HD sports programming includes up to 10 MLB games a week in HD, and DIRECTV plans to offer all MLB games produced in HD beginning with the 2008 season. DIRECTV also offers NBA and NHL games in HD, and through its exclusive NFL SUNDAY TICKET(TM) Superfan subscription, DIRECTV customers have access to more than 150 NFL games in HD. In total DIRECTV offered more than 200 HD games last season, nearly twice as many as cable."
