I don't know how many of you scan the Sunday paper to see where the price points are on HDTV.  I don't have the paper in front of me, but there was a direct view tube around 32 inches for $800.00 advertised today.  So the barrier has been broken and I'm sure the real push will happen with the Holiday Shopping Season starting up at Thanksgiving.

Watch for it.

I've seen a Samsung 27" HD monitor for $699 after $100 rebate (Sears I think), and American is advertising projection sets starting at $1500 (what, probably 45" or greater?).

Add another $400 for a STB and you're in.

Although it's not widescreen, for about $1200 that's a big step in the right direction.  We're making progress!
