Hey all,

Even if you aren't a certain engineer in a bunny suit that likes to climb 1,000 foot towers :) , you'll appreciate this.

Andy Lee, who claims his occupation is "janitor" on his user name but is obviously a stinkin' programmer genius, has posted Longley-Rice maps (actually, they're 4x better resolution area-wise than a standard L-R map!) of all of the Milwaukee analog and digital stations, including low power ones, and those not signed on yet. These show your expected signal strength at any exact location. Look at the link description and he will tell you what each of the colors mean. Oh, and while you are there, you can also download the national map for TV station locations.
And, if you want to see Rockford's stations, download the Chicago file.

These are all available in .kmz format, the one used by Google Earth, and you can just import the file easily from that software. Check it out:

The only way to download it at the moment is via Bittorrent; click on the link for further details. However, by 9:30 PM on 4/12/07, I hope to have it on my website, http://weather.niu.edu/gilbert/. Look for Milwaukee.kmz, BUT wait until I finish uploading it...it's 58.7 MB in size. I already have Chicago.kmz in there.
