Cable TV pioneer passes away

Richard V. Steffens, who established the first operating cable system, called RVS CABLEVISION in the Milwaukkee Area died of cancer on March 19, 2007  In 1979  he established cable TV service for the residents of the City of Wauwatosa, and later to the citzens of Waukesha that proved cable could be successful in a Metropolitan  area that help start the cable boom. he took his this task seriously even when he had to let  in outside investors to get sufficient financing  that eventually,   got control of the company  which let to his ouster in 1983. One reason it is said that Richard V. Steffens, oppossed an rate increase. He was 79 years old.
