ESPN2 HD Coming soon to TWC???

A few postings in AVS forums are reporting that ESPN2 HD has been added to their lineups yesterday. Could we finally be getting something new here??

Oh thats right everyone but us has been getting Sinclair owned HD stations too but you don't see them here.

We are, afterall, dealing with TWC-Wisconsin including Milwaukee, here. rolleyes:

TWC-Milwaukee is missing A&EHD, MHD, CinemaxHD & StarzHD (my signature), too, but you don't see these, either.:mad:

Does anyone as a TWC HD subscriber think we will even GET this channel and at very least, CW18HD (before CW's season ends?)

The other posts don't appear to be April Fool's jokes, but I am wondering if TWC in other locations actually adds new channels on the weekends.

Ours (when they actually ADDED HD channels) were always on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays...the middle of the business week, so I am  a bit suspicious.

I am going to look up the BHN and TWC locations so mentioned in Sat guys and AVS for website additions to verify, as their cableco locations actually DO update their sites quite unlike ours does.:rolleyes:

So if someone was ambitious they could search the threads and figure out what days of the week and date that new channels have been added. Then post it! Heck it could be a thread by itself! Though the TWC side of the thread would crawl at best.:p :p

BHN in Tampa, a TWC clone, offers ESPN2HD channel 703 on its website, along with A&EHD and MHD, too. Included additionally are all other HD locals, too.

TWC in South Carolina has ESPN2HD on channel 951 per a pdf file I found there and avsforum members reporting in.

Sweet Late 07 and 2008!  WOW what did I ever do without TWC, ugh.  ATT ATT ATT ATT.  I am hoping I am no longer a TWC customer by then.

Brighthouse Networks, a TWC clone, has it already and many TWC/Adelphia/Comcast swapouts or locations mixed in already HAVE it...no waiting!:D

As for our TWC-Milwaukee location, you might as well wait for D*to add its new sats for HD channel additions or AT&T U-Verse to knock on your door before TWC-Milwaukee adds any new HD channels.

Waiting for the other 3 HD Disney channels will be late '07 or early '08 because these don't yet exist, but it's good that TWC Corporate decided to add these in the contract language (unlike what happened previously with ESPN2HD) before they are available.

Now, I wonder what TWC Corporate can do to the management at TWC Milwaukee to get them to finally add the HD channels most other TWC locations in the country already have now.

ESPN2 HD is a selectable channel and I was able to tune in to it.  This was done in the diagnostic mode only.  It is channel 528.  I just happened to check.

I had no picture which I think is a local problem because channels 547 & 548 were just grey screens as well.  Somebody else should check this out because my guess is we are finally getting this channel!!

Confirmed here.

528 is available when the box is placed into diag mode. If you actually go to the diag screen (channel 611) after tuning to 528, you'll see that it has no frequency assigned to the channel at this time, hence the grey screen.

528 does apparently have valid guide data dumped into the channel assignment, as it showed the correct program info. (However, it does not show up if you try and view it in the channel grid.)

(I was bored... no other 'unadvertised' channels are loaded up yet anywhere between 500 and 599. The NCAA channels still exist at 581-584, and 581 is still mapped to WDJT-SD. The others don't contain anything, obviously.)

This should be a test case for what is good about competition.  Lets see, ATT rolls out and suddenly TWC is really working on adding more HD channels.  Coincidence?  :OnAir:

No, it has nothing to AT&T coming out with almost thirty HD channels (for free on promotion, no less), including those digital 18 and 24 channels not on their list (thanks, Jimboy)
...they just got some backbone!

This isn't San Antonio where AT&T's headquarters is breathing down TWC-San Antonio's necks in every neighbourhood (yet)...nice try.
